Tales From the Prague Regional
June 9, 2026 | Written by Jack Broomell
This past weekend, we had our final Regional Championship for Season One of Star Wars™: Unlimited Organized Play! We had over 1,200 players coming to play either in the Limited or Premier events. The Regional was a great event to cap off A Lawless Time competitive season as we approach our Season One Galactic Championship.
It was such an awesome time traveling to Prague and meeting so many different players from across the world. I had the chance to meet not only tons of seasoned players, but also players who were attending their first ever Regional Championship!

A big congratulations to Michal W. for winning our Limited event and to Oliver S. for winning our Premier event!

Limited Event
Let's chat through how the Limited Event went starting on Friday, May 22nd with 560 players. Here is what the Limited event's sealed portion looked like for Day 1:

Limited events are always a great way to show off the strengths of all the leaders in a set. After several rounds of Swiss, they went into Day 2, with draft being the format of the day. The Top 8 players at the end of Saturday moved onto the Top 8 bracket for Sunday. Michal was able to play Vel Sartha (A Lawless Time, 6) with the Contested Caverns (A Lawless Time, 25) base to victory in the Top 8 and crowned themselves the champion of the Limited Regional Championship!
Premier Event
Now that we had a chance to talk about the Limited event, let's shift gears and focus on our Premier event that started on Saturday. With rotation happening at the release of A Lawless Time, this was the first regional championship without cards from the first year of the game! This event had players playing fully constructed decks, competing in best-of-three matches over 13 rounds of Swiss play with 663 players. This gave players the chance to build the best deck in the current meta or try to counter that deck with different ideas! The big question of the weekend was whether the top performing leaders like Lando Calrissian (A Lawless Time, 18), Boba Fett (Jump to Lightspeed, 9) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Legends of the Force, 8) would continue their incredible run.
Looking at the Day 1 results can give you a good idea of what players were confident with playing. As you get into Day 2, you can see what leaders did well at the event overall, so let's look at Day 1 play-rates into Day 2!

As expected, we saw Lando Calrissian and Boba Fett continue to do well in this meta by taking up a large percentage of the field Day 1 and maintaining that presence going into Day 2. I would also say it was surprising to have Sebulba (A Lawless Time, 12) and Admiral Ackbar (Jump to Lightspeed, 16) make it into Day 2! To go even further, there was only one Admiral Ackbar leader in the whole event, and that was the one that was eventually was crowned champion!
Let us take a moment to highlight the Top 8 decks and who piloted them:

The Top 8 matches were full of tight gameplay, exciting moments, and players showing off their deep knowledge of the game. A big shoutout to all these players and congratulations to all who earned enough Qualifying Points to qualify for the Main Event at the Season One Galactic Championship on July 24-26th!
Community
We had attendees ranging from local Prague players to those who traveled across the globe to compete in this high-level event. The feedback we got from everyone was how amazing this event was and how welcoming the community is! At this event there was something for every player. We had the two main events for competitors, side events for those looking to claim prize wall items, vendors to help collectors and we even had an artist on site for those who celebrate the art of the game! Star Wars™: Unlimited continues to grow across the globe, and that feeling was with everyone at the event!
All weekend long, you all kept the energy going by sharing stories, trading cards and making memories with us in Prague.

The Prague Regional Championship was truly a special event in the Star Wars™: Unlimited competitive cycle. This event had such a great community full of support, excitement, and fun. We saw the Admiral Ackbar leader steal the show this weekend; who do you think will take down the Season One Galactic Championship?
We are extremely excited for future competitive events and are looking forward to seeing what decks you all bring to the Season One Galactic Championship on July 24-26th. Registration is still open for the event with spots in the Last Chance Qualifier and Galactic Open still being available. Ashes of the Empire will be the most recent set available at that event as it releases on July 17th. Be sure to grab the new cards and meet us in Las Vegas for the best Star Wars™: Unlimited event of the year!
