What is a Sector Qualifier?

Sector Qualifiers are open, standalone, medium-sized Competitive events that can occur all over the world. They are two-day events hosted alongside an assortment of fun side events, perfect for nurturing the Connect aspect of Organized Play as much as the Competitive. To go along with those side events, each Sector Qualifier has a prize wall full of unique and awesome prizes that you can grab between games. The main tournament itself awards prizes for both participation and placement.

Each main set will hold 4 Sector Qualifiers at select locations around the world, for a total of 12 throughout the season. Attending a Sector provides the perfect opportunity to advance your Competitive play to the next level and show off what you’ve learned so far!

Some Sector Qualifiers utilize the Premier format, others are run using limited play. No matter which form the event takes, you can bet folks will bring their A-game!

Earn Qualifier Points (QP) based on your final placement in the tournament. Earn at least 100 QP throughout the season, and you qualify for the Galactic Championship!

Placing in the Top 32 of a Sector Qualifier nets you enough QP to qualify right off the bat, with more in store if you place even higher. Aim for the top spot and climb the leaderboard!

Though there are fewer Sector Qualifiers than there are Planetaries, they can still occur all over the world, which means everyone has the opportunity to attend at least one each season.

Prizing for Everyone

Just by participating in a Sector Qualifier, you’ll walk away with a copy of a special promo card* unique to the current season, as well as a participation game mat featuring a character from one of the latest sets.

For the Ashes of the Empire set, the participation prizes feature an alternate-art Latts Razzi unit card from A Lawless Time, a game mat featuring art from the same card, and two “silver event packs,” each of which contains two alternate-art variants of cards from Legends of the Force, Secrets of Power, A Lawless Time, or Ashes of the Empire.

Prizing for Placement

Of course, there are more than just participation prizes at a Sector Qualifier. If you manage to place well, you can earn yourself some additional promo cards* and other goodies that mark you as a top player at these large events.

For the Ashes of the Empire set, you can look forward to the following Sector Qualifier prizes:

Depending on your final placement, you’ll earn yourself a varying amount of silver event packs, which we described in the Prizing for Everyone section above.
For Top 256, you’ll earn a pack of exclusive art sleeves featuring art of Chancellor Palpatine.
For Top 64 and above, you’ll go home with a number of Ashes of the Empire Carbonite Edition booster packs depending on your final placement. For Top 64, you’ll earn two Carbonite Edition packs. If you make it to Top 32 in the event, you’ll earn four Carbonite packs instead, and if you reach the Top 16, you’ll go home with six!
For participating in Day 2 of the event, you’ll earn yourself a special game mat featuring the art from the Chimaera unit from Ashes of the Empire, as well as an alternate-art Pre Vizsla unit card from the same set. Also, at the end of the event, if you are the top-ranked player for your deck’s leader, you’ll also receive a Showcase variant of your leader card!
For Top 8, you’ll receive a stunning alternate-art Han Solo unit card from Ashes of the Empire, as well as a game mat featuring the art of the same card. You’ll also go home with 12 Ashes of the Empire Carbonite Edition booster packs!
For reaching Top 4, you’ll earn an alternate-art Executor unit card from Ashes of the Empire, as well as a game mat featuring the card’s art. You’ll also earn a whopping 24 Ashes of the Empire Carbonite Edition booster packs!
For the Finalists, you’ll earn yourself a medal that you can wear with pride, alongside an alternate-art Leia Organa unit card from Ashes of the Empire and matching game mat. Your Carbonite Edition booster pack winnings will also increase to a staggering 48 packs—that’s four displays’ worth!
Finally, for the Champion, you’ll receive a special alternate-art Darth Vader card from Ashes of the Empire, a matching game mat, and a full set of Showcase variants for every leader in the set!

*All promo cards feature existing cards from the game with special visual treatments, such as alternate art or a unique graphic design template. No mechanically-unique cards are awarded from events.
