What is a Planetary Qualifier?

Planetary Qualifiers are the only store-level events in the Competitive Play circuit. They consist of a single-day event with prizes awarded for both participation and final placement.

Each set will hold around 215 Planetary Qualifiers among select retailers around the world. With so many different events to attend, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to attend a PQ and test your tournament mettle throughout the season!

Take on your fellow players in a fun, Competitive environment with a chance to win amazing prizes. Different PQs utilize different formats, which means no matter which one is your favorite, there will be tournaments for almost every way to play.

Earn Qualifier Points (QP) based on your final placement in the tournament. Earn at least 100 QP throughout the season, and you qualify for the Galactic Championship!

Winning a Planetary Qualifier gets you exactly 100 QP, but you can still earn some even if you don’t take home the grand prize, so be sure to give it your all!

With 215 Planetary Qualifiers happening each set, you’re bound to have at least one happening near you! Whether you strive to become a local legend or travel to take on far-off scenes, your Competitive journey can take you just about anywhere.

Planetary Qualifier Prizing

Prizing for Everyone

Just by participating in a Planetary Qualifier, you’ll walk away with a copy of a special promo card* unique to the current season.

For Ashes of the Empire Planetary qualifiers, the participation promo is an alternate-art version of the Marrok unit card. So long as you play in at least one game during the tournament, you can take a copy of this promo home!

Prizing for Placement

Of course, there are more than just participation prizes at a Planetary Qualifier. If you manage to place in the Top 8 or higher, you can earn yourself some additional promo cards* and other goodies that mark you as a top player at the store level.

For Ashes of the Empire Planetary Qualifiers, you can look forward to the following prizes:

For Top 8 or higher, you will earn a copy of an alternate-art Luke Skywalker unit card for each place you reach. Each bears a special stamp denoting them as exclusive prizes for top-placers.
For Top 4, you’ll also earn yourself a promo initiative token bearing the mark of a Planetary Qualifier.
For the Champion, you’ll walk away with an exclusive game mat featuring the key art for Ashes of the Empire, marking you as a top PQ player!

*All promo cards feature existing cards from the game with special visual treatments, such as alternate art or a unique graphic design template. No mechanically-unique cards are awarded from events.
